Last November, recipients in attendance of the 2017 Public Service Award of Excellence were disappointed to learn that trophies would not be awarded at the ceremony. It was only one of many examples of the disappointing execution of what should have been a monumental event in Canada’s 150th year.
The Public Servant has learned that about half the trophies arrived at Treasury Board Secretariat broken and that TBS had to repeat the order. Now, April of the following year, recipients have yet to receive their trophies.
